RHU for Recherche Hospitalo-Universitaire
The Health Research Hospital-University (RHU) action aims to support translational research projects in healthcare research. RHU action wishes to prolong this work for a benefit on patients’ management, improvement of diseases understanding, more effective and better tolerated treatments, or an improvement of the performance of healthcare systems.
The call for RHU projects aims to create an ecosystem leading to establishment of a sustainable and productive partnership between academic and industrial teams. It wants to support research projects with a high potential for rapid transfer to industry or to society.
The projects shall be carried out by teams recognized for the excellence of their methodological approaches and for the carrying out of clinical studies. They will have to have hospital structures specially designed for research and have access to powerful technological platforms of biology and imaging that guarantee the production of data whose quality is guaranteed by procedures standardized.

“Investissements d’avenir” (called “grand emprunt”) is an investment program of the French State, initiated in 2010 and still underway in 2018.
These funds have enabled, inter alia, support for research and innovative projects, creation of Technological Research Institutes (IRT), Hospital-University Institutes (IHU), Technology transfer Acceleration Companies (SATT), Hospital-University Research programs and support for the Paris-Saclay technology cluster project.

The National Research Agency (ANR) is a public agency created on February 7, 2005, which finances public research and partnership research in France.
Submitted projects are blindly reviewed by specialized scientific committees which themselves call upon independent external experts. Based on scientific committee’s evaluation ANR steering committee decides fund allocation.
